Serving the whole family

You need a child therapist who not only connects with your child but also communicates well with you.

You've read books by experts, but you know you need something more. It’s time to move past the self-help section to get the support that’s tailored for your child.

Finding a therapist doesn’t have to be stressful.

I am here to help! My name is Vanessa Fontes. I am a clinical psychologist who loves working with families. Children, parents, and teens. Send them all my way! It’s a big decision to find support for yourself and a therapist for your child. After our initial consultation, I will also chat with your child to make sure your child feels safe, knows what to expect on that first session, and create an environment that will make therapy feel normal. The initial consultation is designed so we can ease the stress of wondering if it's even going to be a good first session. After that, we’ll schedule regular weekly sessions for me and your child to meet. I often reserve the first or last 10 minutes of the session as a weekly check-in with parents and every 6 weeks you and I will meet as a team to talk more in depth about how your child is doing. My approach looks at the big picture. It’s not about saying who’s wrong or who did something right, or about placing blame. It’s important to know how to support kids so they feel heard, but also empower parents so they feel confident when they go home each session.
